To boxing enthusiasts, Max Kellerman has been a household name for many years. To others, the Bronx native with the gift of gab may be more of an unknown — until now.

New “First Take” host Max Kellerman should not be an unknown quantity to any sports fan — particularly those that love the sweet science. Others still may have taken in the Bronx native elsewhere, whether in the “Rocky” films, “Sharknado” franchise, or even across cable news.

Kellerman fans may even know that he first caught the attention of the pugilism world as a teen on New York City public access series “Max on Boxing.” That’s where a young “Iron” Mike Tyson did, at least.

Only the hardest-core of Kellerman disciples have probably seen his music video with brother Sam, however.

Unfortunately, one cannot mention Sam Kellerman without touching upon the gruesome way he was murdered. A friend of 10 years, boxer James Butler, killed Sam with repeated blows to the head by hammer. Butler’s attorney stated that his client was being treated for bipolar disorder.

Thankfully, Max Kellerman has experienced great success following heart-breaking tragedy. He’s been a radio mainstay, an HBO Boxing commentator and the host of ESPN’s “SportsNation” for a few years. Now his day will begin earlier.
